Playtech Launches First Ever Power Play Game
Online game developers Playtech have launched their first ever slot title to feature their brand new Playtech Power Play option. The first game to benefit from this exciting new option is AP McCoy: Sporting Legends, which is based on the career of one of Britain’s best-known record-breaking jockeys.
What is Playtech Power Play?
Playtech Power Play is an option to enhance spins which is designed to increase your ‘win potential’, and there are two Power Play modes featured in AP McCoy: Sporting Legends. The first is the Accumulator, which allows you to play a ‘bundle’ of five spins in which a Prize Pot increases every time you win and then pays out on every win you achieve after that.
The second Power Play mode featured in this game is called Accumulator Plus. Again, this allows you to play a bundle of five spins, but here you will have a wild symbol added every time you complete a non-winning spin. All of the accumulated wild symbols are then brought into play for an additional Super Spin that is given when the bundle has been played through.

The game itself has five reels and gives players 243 ways to win on every spin. The reels are stocked with symbols which serve to encapsulate the successful career of AP McCoy, such as a jockey’s helmet, a trophy and the man himself. A Fortune Wheel bonus round will award ten free spins when it is triggered, and each of those spins could win you free games, win multipliers, wild multiplies or cash prizes.
Realistic audio effects help to recreate the experience of watching the world-famous jockey go abot his business, and the voice of AP McCoy is used to comment on the action throughout the game, which is also a very nice addition.
As if all of that wasn’t enough to get excited about, this title offers three jackpots, known as the Daily, Weekly and the Mega. The Daily jackpot always retriggers if it is won before 9pm, whilst the Weekly jackpot runs from 00:00 every Saturday until 23:59 the following Friday. The Mega jackpot, as its name suggests, is the biggest of the trio.
‘The unique jackpot structure behind the Sporting Legends suite has already made it a major hit with players, and with Playtech Power Play, AP McCoy has a whole extra dimension to its gameplay,’ said James Frendo, who is Casino Director at Playtech. ‘Seasoned players will relish the chance to build their prize pot in the Accumulator rounds, with the Super Spin adding an extra touch of excitement.
‘With more Playtech Power Play games to come later this year, we’re confident its additional gameplay features and enhanced win potential can attract an even wider range of players,’
Power Play is Here to Stay!
Having seen how the Playtech Power Play option works in this game, we think that it is one that slot players will come to love very quickly indeed, and we look forward to the further titles that will be made available in due course. In the meantime, head over to LeoVegas or any other venue that offers Playtech titles to try the new option for yourself, and good luck!
