Collect Gems in Miner Donkey Trouble
For anyone who thought that the gem-collecting genre was beginning to get a little old, Miner Donkey Trouble is a new slot from Play'n GO that will make you think again. This is a fantastic game which has plenty of personality, top-quality audio and visuals, a great sense of humour and numerous entertaining features. It can also help you to win up to 10,000 times your stake, so let's take a closer look at what this captivating new slot is all about…
Gone Minin'
Miner Donkey Trouble is a five-reel grid slot with seven rows. The grid is presented deep underground, in the middle of an old mine, which is beautifully illustrated and has some excellent atmospheric lighting. To the right of the massive grid stands a Miner with his pickaxe, and on the other side of the grid is his donkey.
The donkey looks as annoyed as they come, and that's because he's got stuck on the opposing side of the grid by accident. The Miner on the right now has to try to rescue his animal by chipping away at the grid slab that separates them. Of course, as he does this, he'll collect plenty of gems and cash prizes.
All of the visuals are very well done, and the symbols appearing on the grid are crisp and colourful. The main symbols are four different pieces of rock and four different gems, whilst special symbols are a Miner's Pickaxe, a Diamond Wild, a Golden Nugget and a Dynamite Scatter.
You'll need to land a cluster of five or more adjacent symbols to win a prize, and the more symbols there are in a cluster, the better it will pay. When a cluster has paid out, the symbols involved will disappear, and new ones will tumble down into play from above.
Donkey Destruction Feature
Above the donkey on the left, you'll see a carrot meter, and below the donkey are three carrots. Every time you land a winning cluster of symbols, the number of symbols involved will cause the meter to fill up. Every time you fill up the meter, one of the three carrots below will light up. Each lit carrot represents a different level of Donkey Destruction that will be triggered.
The first carrot will enable the donkey to remove all rocks from the grid, the second will remove all rocks and gems, and the third will remove all rocks and gems whilst leaving behind all Golden Nuggets and adding another five to the grid.
Golden Nugget Feature
When Golden Nuggets reach the bottom row of the grid, they'll be collected in a Multiplier basket on the right. Every nugget added to the basket increases the active multiplier by 1. The multiplier can grow for as long as the current spin continues, but it will reset before the next spin.
Miner's Pickaxe Feature
The appearance of the Miner's Pickaxe during a tumble will result in the Miner adding anything from four to ten Diamond Wilds to the grid at the end of the current spin. This makes it possible for the winning to continue for even longer.
Mega Symbol Feature
This special feature can be randomly triggered on any spin. When triggered, you will get one or two extra large symbols on the reels. These could be rocks, gems or even wilds, and they can be 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 in size.
Free Spins Feature
When you get a Dynamite Scatter on the grid, it will explode, taking nearby symbols with it. Land three scatters, and you'll trigger a Free Spins round, which will give you five free spins, to begin with. That doesn't sound like much, but you can retrigger free spins up to 20 times, and the active multiplier can keep growing until the very end of the round.
Let's Get Ready to Tumble!
Miner Donkey Trouble is a weird title for a slot, but there's nothing to criticize about the game itself. It has a humorous storyline which is executed perfectly, the gameplay is rich and varied, and all of its features are well worth triggering. Throw in an upbeat bluegrass soundtrack which accompanies your mining, and this slot will keep you entertained for hours.
