Do you dare to get back to Venus?

In May 2012, Betsoft Gaming released a slot called It Came From Venus, which was all about a farmer who just happened to find a Venus Flytrap plant when it landed on his property. That game became very popular thanks to its superb cinema-style animated content, and now its creators have decided to continue the story in a brand new slot called Back to Venus.

Back To Venus… By Rocket

In Back to Venus, the farmer is planning to return the alien Flytrap to its home planet by rocket ship. The game has five reels, three rows and twenty pay lines, and it is simply gorgeous to look at, with every aspect of the game being rendered to a very high standard. The action takes place on a patch of the farmer’s property, where a rudimentary rocket stands to the right of the fifth reel, being prepared for the mission ahead. To the left of the first reel is the alien plant, which sways patiently with its mouth open.

The lower-value symbols on the reels are the playing card ranks of J, Q, K and A, whilst a crop circle, a collection of strange plants and a plant-infested chicken coop serve as the medium-value symbols. The best-paying symbols are a flying saucer, the alien Flytrap and the farmer wearing what appears to be a home-made astronaut’s helmet.

A rocketship Bonus symbol serves as a scatter, and can appear on the second, third, fourth and fifth reels, whilst an asteroid Wild symbol, which and also appears on all reels with the exception of the first, can substitute for any symbol except the scatter.

We have already said how good the visuals are in this game, but the audio is also very impressive, with a light-hearted cinematic soundtrack that changes its tone and tempo according to the action taking place. Incidental sound effects have a great science-fiction style, adding an additional layer of realism to the whole experience.

Sticky Asteroid Wilds

Asteroid Wild symbols appear on the reels from outer space, streaking into play like flaming meteors. These asteroid Wilds are sticky for two spins, and when they first land they will look like hunks of grey rock that are bound by plant roots. Half of those roots will disappear on the first sticky spin, and the other half will disappear on the second, leaving just the grey rock when the Wild has lost its stickiness.

Flowering Wild Boost

A Flowering Wild Boost feature can be triggered on any spin where no win is achieved, and when that happens the reels can light up, indicating that there is now an improved chance of getting asteroid Wild symbols on the reels.

Prickly Stick and Respin

A Prickly Stick and Respin feature can also be triggered on any non-winning spin. Should this take place, a random symbol will be selected to stick on the reels, and all instances of that symbol will then be held whilst a free respin takes place.

Free Spins Feature

The main feature in Back to Venus is the Free Spins round. This can be triggered by getting three or four Bonus scatter symbols on the reels, and the number of scatters which triggers the feature will determine the rules that govern the Free Spins feature, as follows:

• Get 3 scatter symbols and you will receive 10 free spins. In this scenario, all asteroid Wild symbols are sticky, and there is a greater chance that more wilds will appear than is usually the case
• Get 4 scatter symbols and you will receive 10 free spins. Here the asteroid Wilds will once again be sticky, but you will also have the chance of landing special multiplier wilds on the reels for even greater profit potential
