Britain might be more often associated with Boris Johnson and Brexit these days, but back in the 1970s it was the punk rock subculture that was making headlines. Punk music bands such as The Sex Pistols, the Clash and the Damned lifted two fingers to convention and encouraged their fans to do the same. As a result, the streets were soon peppered with youths wearing boots, skinny jeans and often brightly coloured spiked hair, whilst the pop charts were (in the eyes of the conservative media) being completely terrorised by controversial songs like Anarchy in the UK, God Save the Queen and Pretty Vacant, to name just three.

Punk Rocker celebrates this revolutionary subculture in great style. The slot begins with five reels and three rows, giving you 243 ways to win, and is presented against a poster-covered brick building somewhere in the middle of London. A sixth reel is initially locked behind a chain-linked fence and covered in police tape. In the background you will see Big Ben, and in the foreground an iconic red telephone box stands nursing panes of shattered glass.

xWays Mechanic

The xWays symbol will expand to show anything from two to four identical symbols, which means that any reel it lands in could then have up to six rows. If an xWays symbol expands to reveal four symbols in the main game, punk character symbols can be ‘super expanded’ to 20 rows high. The bottom line is that the appearance of an xWays symbol is a good thing, and will give you more ways to win than you would have had without it.

Riot Respins Feature

When you get two scatter symbols on the reels you will trigger a Riot Respin feature. The sixth reel will be unlocked, giving you at least 729 ways to win, and the scatter symbols will transform into Molotov wilds before locking. Any other reel which has a Molotov wild on it will also be locked. A free respin will then be given.

Anarchy and Civil War Free Spins

Punk Rocker has two different free spins features which can be triggered, and these are referred to as Anarchy Free Spins, which is triggered by getting three Bonus symbols on the reels, and Civil War Free Spins, which needs to be triggered by four Bonus symbols. Both modes work in much the same way, and will award you eight free spins, with the sixth reel unlocked throughout. Scatter symbols become jumping wilds throughout free spins, which mean that they will jump around from spin to spin, and you will therefore get three in the Anarchy mode and four in the Civil War mode.

When a jumping wild appears, it can activate an Enhancer that may appear at the top of its reel. Enhancers can give you wild multipliers, guarantee the landing of a an xWays symbol containing four rows, maximise all reels to six rows (giving you 46,656 ways to win), or add an extra jumping wild.
