Packs a Mighty Punch

All cultures have their own particular mythologies which are populated by fearless warriors, powerful gods and mighty heroes, but this poses the question: Who would win should the big names from each culture decide to take each other on? Whilst you might not have actually thought about that question until a moment ago, our philosophical friends over at Play’n GO did little else when they were working hard on their latest release, Divine Showdown.

Get Ready to Rumble!

Divine Showdown is a five-reel slot with three rows and twenty pay lines. The game features four of the biggest names in world mythology: Wukong, who is also known in China as the Monkey King; Anubis, who is the ancient Egyptian God of Death; Athena, the Greek Goddess of Wisdom; and Thor, who we all know and love as the Norse God of Thunder.

We can’t say exactly what these four powerful individuals have got against each other, but whatever it is has them battling it out for supremacy against a beautifully depicted backdrop which portrays a place far removed from mainstream society. The five reels have a granite background, and symbols which appear on them include 10, K, Q, K and A, the four characters just mentioned, a Wild and a Scatter.

The graphics in this game are gorgeous, and audio is also very impressive, with an epic soundtrack and plenty of thunderous sound effects serving to give you a real sense of battle unfolding as you play.

Divine Showdown Multiplier Reel

Divine Showdown boasts three great features, and the first of these is the Multiplier Reel. This kicks in at random on any spin in the main game, and will give you a multiplier worth anything from x2 up to x10 on any win that you happen to land. The multiplier value applied is displayed on a reel located above the fourth reel, hence the name of the feature.

Divine Showdown Power Spin Feature

This is another feature which can be triggered at random when playing the main game, and it will award you a single Power Spin. A Power Spin is basically a respin with a special power applied by one of the four characters, and the character which bestows the power will also be randomly determined.

• If Anubis is selected, he will choose one or two symbols and turn them into Wild symbols for the respin
• If Athena is selected, she will choose three reels and cause their symbols to synchronise for the respin
• If Thor is selected, he will turn all character symbols into a Thor symbol for the respin, which is the best symbol on the pay table as far as value is concerned
• If Wukong is selected, he will make winning easier by adding entire Wild reels for the respin

Divine Showdown Free Spins Battle

The main special feature in this game is the Free Spins Battle feature. This is triggered whenever you get three scatter symbols on the reels, and your first task will be to select one of the characters to be your Champion. A Battle Reel will spin to determine whether you get a free spin or go to battle against another character. A battle involves you and your opponent striving to get the highest number of special symbols on the reels. You have three lives and this feature ends when you have lost them all.
