Red Tiger didn’t exist until 2014, but the development company has quickly become one of the biggest names in the business thanks to its prolific output of quality games. The company recently reached a milestone in its history by releasing its 100th title, and Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold is a worthy game to have that honour. As its name suggests, this new game has a familiar pirate theme, but it is definitely one of the better slots in the genre, and serves as a great example of what Red Tiger does best.
About Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold
Pirates’ Plenty – Battle for Gold is the sequel to an early Pirates’ Plenty adventure which concerned The Sunken Treasure. This follow-up is a five-reel slot which takes place inside the pirate ship in the main game and takes the action outdoors in its Battle Spins round. As far as the main game is concerned, the background gives a hint at the hoard of treasure that has already been amassed – presumably from the previous adventure mentioned a moment ago – and the five reels are situated above cannons.
Symbols on the reels include pieces of gold inset with gems representing the playing card suits of hearts, clubs, diamonds and spades, a bottle of grog, a pistol, a cannon, a pirate’s hat, a skull and crossbones symbol, a wild, collectible map symbols and a Battle Spins scatter.
The visuals in this game are of the highest quality, and help to create an immersive cartoon-style environment which will impress anyone with a taste for adventure. The soundtrack is as realistic as countless pirate movies have led you to expect, and audio effects are just as good, with pirates shouting and cannons firing whenever the need arises.
Wild Island Row
This game normally has three rows, but if you look at the top of the screen you will see a map which spans the five reels. When you get collectible treasure map symbols on the reels, these will be added to that map, and when you have collected enough to get to the marked destination, the map will be transformed into the Wild Island Row. This will remain active for as long as you continue playing at the same stake that was being used when you unlocked it.
The Wild Monkey
All good pirate ships seem to have a monkey on board, and this one is no different. The monkey can appear at any time (except during the Battle Spins feature) and when he does so he will roam the reels and steal all lower-value coin symbols that bear a playing card suit. For every different symbol that the monkey collects, a wild multiplier will increase in value. The reels will then respin with high-paying symbols only.
Battle Spins Feature
When you manage to get three Battle Spins scatter symbols on the reels at the same time, you will trigger the Battle Spins feature. Here you will receive a random number of free spins, and a new FIRE! symbol can appear to give you extra spins. In addition, all wilds will stick in place for the duration of the round, which gives you the chance to fill the reels with wilds and multiplier wilds for some serious wins!
One of the Most Immersive Titles
‘Pirates’ Plenty - Battle For Gold is one of the most immersive titles in our suite of slot games,’ said Carl Ejlertsson, who is Director of Business Development at Red Tiger. ‘Its predecessor Pirates’ Plenty - The Sunken Treasure has featured in iGaming Tracker’s top five games since its release, so we had a lot to live up to with the sequel. The free spins feature has a new take on sticky wilds which allows players to see the potential of the game very easily. Combine this with the treasure map functionality that allows for a lower volatility introduction experience before the heat is turned up, and you have a great player experience!’
