The fact that this new slot from Microgaming has both Sherlock and London in the title indicates that the game is as much about the world of Sherlock Holmes as the adventure itself. The game has a cartoon style, and the portrayal of Holmes and Watson is very reminiscent of how the characters appeared in the movies of the 1930’s and 1940’s, which starred Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce.The game has five reels, three rows and 25 paylines, with the foggy streets of London serving as the main backdrop. The artwork of the background and symbols is superbly detailed, and you will want to pause at least once or twice to fully appreciate the sight, which includes Big Ben towering majestically in the distance.
Symbols used in the game include nice interpretations of the playing card ranks 10, J, Q, K and A, the door sign for 221B Baker Street (which is where Holmes lives), several villains, Dr Watson and Sherlock Holmes himself, who serves as a wild symbol. Add in a nostalgic soundtrack and adventurous sound effects and you can’t fail to be impressed by the aesthetics of this title.
